Maurika Ross is a mixed media artist based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Her work is focused on spreading a joyful light into spaces. Whether it be playing up elements of nature or everyday objects, she is able to utilize them to their highest potential.
Early on, Maurika found she had a creative bug. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 she left her established career in veterinary medicine to focus on healing. She has since re-focused her career on expressing herself creatively. Maurika uses her artistic eye to creatively solve problems and make special moments in everyday life. She is fond of creating unique immersive experiences and giving refuse a joyful second life. Her creative expression is often weighted in inspiring whimsy within her environment. She enjoys exploring her creativity in all forms. Maurika is eager to be a creative coordinator in all aspects of life from runway, experiences, gardens, interiors, community etc.
